Januray Goat Group Meeting
Dear Ramona Stars Goat Group,
If you weren't able to make our Jan.8th meeting, had to leave early, or didn't have a chance to take notes what follows is a summary. Our Goat Group Garage Sale will take place Sat. Feb. 4th from 8:00 to 11:00 at the Ramona Grange Hall. If we are rained out we will have the sale Sun. Feb. 5th. I will be at the Grange Hall Fri. Feb. 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. for anyone wanting to drop items off. Don't forget to bring any card tables or portable tables you might have to display items for sale. I just discovered that the Grange has 5 sandwich boards we can use. Each side is big enough for 1/2 of a poster board. These can be places around town the day of the sale, 10th & Main, Stater Center, Alberson Center etc. If you have volunteered to make signs please make 2 1/2 poster board size signs to go on a sandwhich board. The following 4Hers volunteered to be project officers: Hannah Gill - President ; Leah Gill - Vice President ; Katie Philips - Secretary. In answer to the question about feeding a kid goat and a lamb that have been put together, feed lamb feed. Goats can eat lamb food but lambs cannot eat goat feed. Goat feed has too much copper for lambs. I was also asked when this years market kids should be picked up? It is not to early to let the breeders know you want your name on their list. Besides Cami Brewer (760) 788-2497, another breeder not to far away is Janet Tulloch in San Ysabel at (760) 789-8163. Once your kid is born usually the kid will go to your house between 2 to 2 1/2 months of age
